On March 28, Konya Selçuklu Science High School, and Seljuk Osman Nuri Hekimoglu Anatolian High School “Why Should I Be an Engineer?” we have realized our presentation. With these presentations, we aim to raise awareness of female students about the engineering profession and encourage them to choose engineering education.
We receive support from female engineer role models to explain that professions have no gender. Our role models tell their stories of becoming engineers, rather than technical knowledge about the engineering profession, why engineering is an important profession today with digital transformation and why women are needed in this field.
At Selçuklu Science High School, where we made the first presentation in Konya, we met with intense interest from students, teachers and administrators and made a pleasant presentation. On the same day, we continued our presentations at Selçuklu Osman Nuri Hekimoğlu Anatolian High School in the afternoon. At the end of the event, the positive feedback we received from the surveys we applied to the students inspired us for our future studies.
